Travelling

The photographs below focus on the travels disabled supporters make as part of their matchday. This includes travelling to the stadium, moving through the surrounding area, and navigating the ground itself once they arrive and leaving it. That can include accessible routes from the turnstile to the seats, or even the accessibility of the turnstiles themselves, having ramps and lifts.
Disabled fans explained that matchday access often begins before reaching the grounds, with public transport, and accessible parking all shaping the experience, and sometimes being the difference between attending matches or not, with some highlighting that finding a space to park is often “a worry”. Away matches were a particular concern, as disabled fans are often more reliant on accurate information from the home club, and previous experience.
